From the day we started PROJECT 88, there have been a handful of Land Rovers I’ve dreamed of building. This is one of them.
In fact, this might be the one I should be keeping.
Our patina builds are different. We don’t create or fake their character, we simply preserve it. Every one arrives carrying around 60 years of history, stories and memories, and opportunities to buy examples like this don’t come along very often.
Finished in Pastel Green, one of Land Rover’s most desirable and hardest-to-find heritage colours, this Series 3 is already rare. Pair that with what I genuinely believe is almost perfect patina, and you have something incredibly special.
Specification
The dash, front and rear seats, and canvas colour can be changed to your own specification at no additional cost.
Key work highlights
Unlike most of our builds, we have taken a different approach with this one (how could we not). Keeping as many items original as we could and maintaining the ultra-cool patina across the car, we ensured the car was structurally sound and mechanically ‘turn-key’.
The chassis and bulkhead are spot on. Fabrication in the past has been completed to a very high calibre and passed through inspection. It’s the original chassis, meaning this car can be imported to the USA or other overseas countries.

The engine, gearbox, drivetrain, brakes and steering are also spot on and have been inspected. We have also driven this car for 150 miles to ensure top reliability.
This car has, of course, been subject to some mechanical work by us to make sure every element is as it should be. We hold ourselves to higher standards than required!
Style This Series
This S3 offers its new custodian the ability to run around with “The Look”, but retains the option of easily returning to a stock/period finish if so desired.
Of course, we can help you take this 88 to another level of individualisation.
