1959 Series 2 Land Rover. Mid Grey Patina, Fully Restored Inside. Sympathetically Restored Underside & Engine.

Often, the Series Land Rovers we source have very interesting backstories, and this one is no exception. This 1959 Series 2 Land Rover was the previous owner’s daily driver for the last 15 years, and before we even touched it, it was one of the best-driving Series Land Rovers out there!

THE RESTORATION:

Popularity for our Patina builds has been growing, with this one being Build 003. We have taken a different approach again this time.

We have kept the 65 years of mid grey patina on the outside but fully restored the inside. This includes:

• New tub liner (making the rear tub arrow-straight)
• Gloss black pedals, gear levers, vents, wiper motor, door handles, air flap adjusters
• Custom PROJECT 88 front and rear leather seats (these can be changed to any colour upon purchase)
• PROJECT 88 rear teak deck
• Gold bolts throughout the inside of the car
• Fresh galv cappings, windscreen frame, and brackets throughout
• New windscreen glass
• Larger 88 wheels, tyres, and spacers
• New sand canvas and frame (the colour of this can also be changed upon purchase)

The engine, gearbox, drivetrain, brakes, and steering are also spot on and have been inspected. We have driven this car for 150 miles to ensure top reliability.

This car has, of course, undergone some mechanical work by us to make sure every element is as it should be. We hold ourselves to higher standards than required!

The chassis and bulkhead are spot on. Fabrication in the past has been completed to a very high calibre and passed inspection. It’s the original chassis, meaning this car can be imported to the USA or other overseas countries (we can support with shipping and import duties).

It even has the very rare early door hinge mirror mounts.

This Series 2 offers its new custodian the ability to run around with “The Look” but retains the option of easily returning to a stock/period finish if so desired.
